About Us

The Geodemographics Knowledge Base (GKB) is a comprehensive directory of hand-selected websites for people interested in the application of geodemographics and geo-spatial analysis. Here you will also find information on the Census, the future of the Census, Open Data, Location based targeting and other specific data sources and resources. This site has been produced by the Census and Geodemographics Group of MRS. MRS is the world's largest association representing providers and users of market, social, and opinion research, and business intelligence.

For over 20 years the MRS Census and Geodemographics Group has been a leading independent voice in the geodemographics sector. Part of MRS, it exists to promote the full use of Census and geodemographic information. It works with the Office for National Statistics (ONS) and others to represent the needs of research.

The MRS Census and Geodemographics Group run regular seminars on the latest developments and uses of Census, geodemographic and lifestyle data, and data integration in market research and related fields.

The CGG is an MRS advisory board that recommends MRS policy in relation to geographic, demographic and census information. As part of this role they represent the profession by responding to important consultations on behalf of MRS and their members.
